Ring Size Guide

Not sure what ring size to order? Don't worry — finding your ring size at home is easy with two simple methods. Follow the steps below, then use our conversion chart to find your size in any system.

Method 1: The String or Paper Method (Measure Your Finger)

This is the most accurate way to find your ring size if you don't already own a ring that fits well.

  1. Cut a thin strip of paper or a piece of string, roughly 10–15 cm long.
  2. Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you'd like to wear the ring on. It should feel comfortable — not tight, and not loose enough to slip off easily.
  3. Mark the point where the paper or string overlaps with a pen.
  4. Lay it flat against a ruler and measure the length in millimetres. This is your finger circumference.
  5. Find that measurement in the "Circumference (mm)" column of the chart below to identify your size.

Tip: Do this measurement at the end of the day — fingers are naturally slightly larger in the evening and in warm weather, which gives you the most comfortable fit.

Method 2: Measure an Existing Ring

If you already own a ring that fits the correct finger well, this method is quick and reliable.

  1. Place the ring on a flat surface.
  2. Use a ruler to measure the inside diameter of the ring in millimetres — that's the distance across the inside of the ring from one edge to the other.
  3. Find that measurement in the "Diameter (mm)" column of the chart below to identify your size.

Note: Make sure you're measuring the inside of the ring, not the outside.

Tips for Buying Rings Online

  • Measure at the right time of day. Fingers are slightly larger in the evening and in warm conditions. Measure at the end of the day for the most comfortable everyday fit.
  • Consider the width of the band. Wide bands tend to fit more snugly than narrow ones. If you're ordering a wide band (6mm or wider), consider sizing up by half a size.
  • When between sizes, size up. It's much easier to resize a ring that's slightly too large than one that's too small. If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger one.
  • Knuckle size matters. If your knuckle is significantly wider than the base of your finger, measure both and choose a size that slides over your knuckle comfortably, then sits well at the base.
  • Dominant hand fingers are slightly larger. If you're ordering a ring for your right hand, measure your right hand — and vice versa.

Best Time to Measure Your Finger

For the most accurate result, measure your finger:

  • In the evening — fingers swell slightly during the day
  • When you're at a normal body temperature — cold makes fingers shrink, heat makes them swell
  • At least twice — and take the average if the measurements differ slightly

Avoid measuring when your hands are very cold, after exercise, or when you've just woken up.
