Jewelry Care Guide

How to Care for Your Jewelry

With the right care, your jewelry will stay beautiful for years. Follow these simple tips to keep your pieces looking their best.

General Care Tips

  • Last on, first off: Put your jewelry on after applying perfume, lotion, and hairspray. Remove it before washing hands, swimming, or exercising.
  • Avoid moisture: Water, sweat, and humidity accelerate tarnishing. Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, or doing dishes.
  • Store separately: Store each piece in its own pouch or compartment to prevent scratching.
  • Clean gently: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing to remove oils and residue.

Sterling Silver

Silver naturally tarnishes over time due to exposure to air and moisture. To keep it bright:

  • Polish with a silver cloth or mild soap and warm water
  • Dry thoroughly before storing
  • Store in an airtight bag or anti-tarnish pouch when not wearing

Gold-Plated Jewelry

Gold plating is a layer of gold over a base metal. It can wear over time, especially with daily contact.

  • Avoid contact with chemicals, perfumes, and chlorine
  • Clean with a soft damp cloth only β€” no polishing cloths or harsh cleaners
  • Remove before swimming or exercising
  • Gold plating typically lasts 1–3 years with proper care

Nickel-Free & Sensitive Skin

Many of our pieces are nickel-free and suitable for sensitive skin. Look for the "Nickel-free" label on individual products. All sterling silver (925) pieces are hypoallergenic.

When to Remove Your Jewelry

  • Before swimming (pool, sea, hot tub)
  • Before showering or bathing
  • During exercise or sport
  • Before sleeping (especially chains and delicate pieces)
  • Before applying beauty products
